Why the Mighty 5 ADV
Most people drive it in a week.
You'll ride it in seven days.
The Utah Mighty 5 — Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches — is one of the great American road trips. Most people do it in a rental car, stopping at overlooks and walking the paved trails. It's beautiful. It's also nothing like what we do.
We run the Mighty 5 on Honda Africa Twins and BMW GS 850s — ADV bikes built for exactly this kind of mixed-terrain, high-mileage expedition. The route threads the backcountry roads between and around each park, hits the iconic passes and canyon corridors, and camps in the backcountry every night. Seven days, five parks, one continuous ride. Fully all-inclusive.
Honda Africa Twin / BMW GS 850
Built for exactly this.
The Africa Twin and GS 850 are the definitive ADV bikes for a route like this — long-travel suspension, comfortable ergonomics for high-mileage days, and enough ground clearance to handle the dirt sections between parks. Both machines are fully kitted and staged at the trailhead.

The five parks
One route.
Five worlds.
Each park is a different planet. The route links all five — and you ride through the backcountry of every one.
01
Zion
The canyon that starts it all.
The route opens on the Zion backcountry — Kolob Terrace, the Hurricane Cliffs, and the canyon rim roads above the main corridor. You'll see Zion from angles that four million annual visitors never reach.
02
Bryce Canyon
The hoodoos from the plateau.
The Paunsaugunt Plateau at 8,000 feet. The backcountry roads that thread through the hoodoo formations. The amphitheater rim from above. Bryce from the saddle is a completely different experience.
03
Capitol Reef
The park nobody talks about.
Capitol Reef is the least-visited of the five and arguably the most dramatic for riding. The Waterpocket Fold, Cathedral Valley, and the Notom-Bullfrog Road — 100 miles of remote canyon riding with almost no traffic.
04
Canyonlands
The White Rim. The needles.
The White Rim Road — 100 miles of dirt road circling the Island in the Sky mesa above the Colorado and Green River confluence. One of the great backcountry rides in North America. We run it in a day.
05
Arches
The send-off.
The route finishes in Moab — the Shafer Trail, the La Sal Mountain loop, and the canyon roads above Arches. The most famous landscape in Utah, seen from the best possible angle.
What's included
Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.
ADV Bikes Only
Honda Africa Twin or BMW GS 850. The right machines for a 7-day mixed-terrain expedition — comfortable enough for 200-mile days, capable enough for the dirt sections between parks.
All Five Parks
Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches — linked by a continuous route that hits the backcountry roads between and around each park. The definitive Utah ride.
Backcountry Every Night
Seven nights in the backcountry. No hotels, no RV parks. Camp is set up and broken down by the crew. You arrive to a fire, a hot meal, and a view.
Fully Supported
Chase truck on every section. Fuel, tools, water, recovery gear, and a spare machine. The route covers remote terrain — you need full support, and you have it.
Small Groups
Eight riders maximum. A route this long and this varied requires individual attention. Small groups move at a real pace and the guide can coach every rider through the technical sections.
All-Inclusive
Machine, fuel, guide, chase truck, all meals, camp, photographer, and permits. Everything except getting yourself to the meeting point in St. George, UT.
The route
Seven days.
Day by day.
Day 1
St. George to Zion Backcountry
Stage in St. George, UT. Gear check, machine walkthrough, and a morning briefing. Ride north onto the Kolob Terrace — the high plateau above Zion's main canyon. Canyon-edge traverses, mesa roads, and the first views of the canyon rim from above. First camp on the plateau.
Day 2
Zion to Bryce Canyon — The Plateau Traverse
The Hurricane Cliffs and Canaan Mountain in the morning — the most dramatic section of the Zion backcountry. Ride east through the canyon country to the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Arrive at Bryce in the late afternoon and ride the first hoodoo backcountry roads before camp.
Day 3
Bryce Canyon — Hoodoo Country
A full day in the Bryce backcountry. The amphitheater rim traverse, the hoodoo corridor roads, and Red Canyon in the afternoon. The most otherworldly terrain on the route. Camp on the plateau at 8,000 feet.
Day 4
Bryce to Capitol Reef — The Forgotten Park
The long ride east through the canyon country to Capitol Reef. The Notom-Bullfrog Road runs 70 miles along the base of the Waterpocket Fold — one of the most remote and dramatic roads in Utah. Cathedral Valley in the late afternoon. Camp in the desert.
Day 5
Capitol Reef to Canyonlands — The White Rim
The White Rim Road — 100 miles of dirt road circling the Island in the Sky mesa above the Colorado and Green River confluence. The most technically demanding day on the route. Exposed ledges, canyon-edge traverses, and views that go 50 miles in every direction. Camp on the rim.
Day 6
Canyonlands to Moab — The Needles & Shafer Trail
The Needles district in the morning — a completely different character from Island in the Sky. Ride north to Moab via the Shafer Trail switchbacks descending from the canyon rim. Arrive in Moab for the last camp of the expedition.
Day 7
Moab & Arches — The Send-Off
The La Sal Mountain loop in the morning — alpine riding above 12,000 feet with views of the canyon country below. Descend through the canyon roads above Arches for the final section. Debrief, photos, and a cold drink in Moab. The route ends here.

From the field
“I've ridden in 30 countries. The Mighty 5 ADV is in my top three rides of all time. The White Rim on day five alone is worth the whole trip. The crew was flawless — seven days of logistics and not a single hiccup.”
“Capitol Reef was the surprise. Nobody talks about it but the Notom-Bullfrog Road is one of the most dramatic roads I've ever ridden. 70 miles along the base of the Waterpocket Fold with almost no traffic. Unreal.”
“Seven days in the backcountry and I never once thought about work, my phone, or anything else. That's the point. The guide knew every inch of every section. The food was genuinely great. I'm already planning to come back.”
